Loosing Fuel or Spark ?

I have a 1976 115HP Merc. i was out fishing yesterday boat ran fine, i went from one fishing spot to another and boat started with no problem got a plain with no problem and then started to skip,im really thinking i have more of a fuel problem than a spark problem,but i really don't know were to start.(Thanks in Advance )

Check the gas for water intrusion
