Hello All,

26'Walkaround Cuddy
1994 Volvo Duoprop
350 ci Throttle Body Injected (GM)

After waiting 2 weeks for props to be re-hubbed I finaly got her out. Boat ran fine going out the inlet but after idling for about 15 minutes we started to take off and no power. There was a pinging noise also. Boat usually would jump out of the water and run at 30 mph at 3000 rpm...but now she won't go past 3000 rpm and only do 20 at the most. Took us about hour or so to get back.I recently had tune up...cap, roter, coil, she is throtle body injected. Took her home and emptied the fuel canister in a jar and it was half full of this orange ISH sludge looking stuff.
I emptied out about 60 gallons of gas and it looked fine. I put most of it in my truck and no problems. I added fuel stabilizer to the 40 gallons that was left in the boat and took her out the next day. Same problem..she won't jump out of the water and the most rpm I can get is 3000, and seems like it is under a great load. Before I used to get 4000 rpm no ploblem. I'm wondering if the Fuel injectors are clogged or the stabilizer screwed up what gas I had or the engine is going to go. Engine has right at 600 hrs.
Thanks in advance for any help
Lee

Re: Loosing Power

a quick check is look to see that both injectors are spraying fuel when running. it couldbe that water (orange sludgie stuff) got to one of them. if not its time to recheck all the tuneup parts.
good luck and keep posting
