loss power

1989 90 hp....today got to ramp,motor started right up,put in gear idle out from ramp then went to take off,no power,rmp's only make it to 2200,it netural motor will go all the way up,no problem.....test comp. got 110,110, 105, 100, out in the sun I can see a good blue spark.....last time run was last Tuesday and it ran great....fuel pump is only year old,rebuilt carbs about a year a go.......Is it time to pull carbs again or something else that I am not thinking of...hard to test sitting in the yard,motor idles fine.......

looks like it might be fuel pump...I removed the outlet hose and squeeze the primer bulb and get a a good fuel flow,but I crank the motor and only have 1/2 oz of fuel after 10 sec.s of cranking..................

Have you tried pumping the primer bulb when it acts up ??

well I didn't think about till I got off the lake...I knew I had a new pump,new line, primer bulb,carbs redone.....I quit trying to mess with at the lake and fished using the trolling motor to get around....I just pulled the fuel pump apart and notice 2 small rubber (valves) and 1 of them is warped around the edges and the other lays flat....that might be the problem,it will not pump any gas,except for a few drops now,less than tea spoon after 10 sec's of cranking............

well cleaned it all up and put it back together,,,,crank motor for about 10sec;s and get about 1/2 to 3/4 oz. of gas,,,is this average for a fuel pump while just cranking or should it be putting out a lot more....It will be a few days before I can take it too a lake...just asking before I go thru the trouble of putting it all back together....I understand that it should put out more while running..... the 2 rubber valves are now sitting flat

took boat to lake and will only tack to 2200,I pumped the primer bulb and it was hard....came home took carbs off to look for trash and on the bottom floatbowl I heard something rattle.....High speed jet was loose just sliding back and forth....I have never taken these out before so I am going to go ahead and tear apart top carb. and check these also....the carb. was spotless on the inside.
