Loss RPM in between 2600 & 1100

I have 225HP Yamaha Saltwater 1996.
Start on the DOT.Idle speed ok until pass 1000RPM to 2600 RPM,loss power & the RPM's.One you pass 2700RPM's work's beautifull with out problems maximum speed rich 42 MPH.
It has the main gas pump new,filters,throttle sensor new.
Please help me on this problem.

My 150 tends to act stupid in that range, too. I'll be interested to hear opinions onthe symptom. One suggestion I got was to tighten the battery connections with pliers, even though everything points to fuel.
