Hey Folks,
I recently had the unfortunate experience of hitting a rock causing damage to the prop and lower unit. After the hitting the hazard I cut the engine and trimmed the drive all the way up to find the prop hit pretty bad. I turned the engine over again, trimmed down and was able to drive the boat back to the launch as if it didn't happen. Back at the launch I trimmed up and the prop/lower unit made a noise like I hit something else (but didn't) and from that point on could not engage Forward or Reverse.
Repairs shops said it would take at least 3 weeks before they can take a look so I'd like to attempt to repair on my own. I've considered buying a used lower unit and new shift cable as thats what other folks have suggested I try.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks, Brian.
