I have a 90HP 4-stroke Mercury. I keep the boat in the water year round and recently towed it home for the annual clean up and oil change, etc. When I took it back to the lake this weekend it was very hard to start and keep idling. At full throttle I'm only hitting 3500 rpm.
Also should mention that when filling the gas tank a few weeks ago the plastic neck of the tank I was filling from fell into the boat's gas tank. The boat ran fine after this happened.
It seems like the motor is not getting enough gas, but it idles fine when in neutral with the throttle up. When I shift it out of neutral and into gear it dies if I'm not fast enough. The bulb between the gas tank and the motor in the fuel line is not collapsing when running.
Any ideas?
