More importantly how much speed will you loose when the bottom gets all hairy or the effort it takes to keep it clean if it's kept in the water without bottom paint. :(

JR,as stated it depends on what type of paint you use.More importantly it depends on the condition of the surface to be painted and how smoothly YOU paint it.Charlie

MOST IMPORTANTLY it depends on the type boat you have. A sailboat that can go 7 knots will loose 1 to 1 1/2 knots. thats 12-15 percent. a power boat on the other hand may only loose 1/4 of a percent of its total top speed..........excuse my math but you get the picture.........
