I recently acquired a 1985 Evinrude 2 hp. I completed what would be considered a major tune-up. The motor starts on the first pull, idles nicely, accelerates with gusto BUT IT IS SO LOUD my head hurts for several hours after using it...almost like a chainsaw...It is not a knock, just loud. There is so little that can go wrong with these motors I am mystified. I have had other Johnson-Evinrude 2 hp's and they were all MUCH quieter. Any ideas?? Thanks.
