Hello from Holland,
Today i launched our boat after 6 months and everything looked fine. The engine started immediatly and was running perfect.

But back at to dock i toticed a loud ping /clincking when i put the gear from forward to neutral and also from backward to neutral. I’m 99% sure it is somerhing mechanic.

I read this post and i was wondering if this (the key hangs in the ignition switch so the starter engine is running) could be my problem to: https://forums.iboats.com/threads/loud-ping-when-putting-back-from-forward-to-neutral.615628/

I try to upload a video where you can hear the sound when i put it in neutral. If uploading is not working, here is the video on youtube:

I hope someone outhere can help me.

Thank you.

It sure does sound like it is something with the starter.----Take a look.----Perhaps spring is missing on pinion drive.
