Low compression on 1967 9.5 hp Johnson Outboard

I am new to this so.....what does it mean if your outboard motor is only kicking out 50 psi per cylinder? I have read it should at least be between 65-75 psi?

Cylinders could be scored.---Head gasket could be blown.---Piston and rings could be worn out.--------Your arm could be weak.-----Test with a rope on the flywheel.-----And no the throttle does NOT need to be open.----And no it it is NOT a reed valve issue.

does it work ? try running it with a good cleaner like Merc Power tune or Evinrude engine cleaner. some folks like Seafoam some don't


tried a different pressure meter seems the short ones are better compared to the long hose attached meters
