I have a 1987 25hp merc long shaft with electric start.
I took the carb off and checked the needles and one of them is rounded off at the top.
Shouldn't it be just like a needle end, nice and sharp and pointed?
I just want to make sure it needs replacing...if not, I can just put it back in.
I'm not a 100% sure on this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Brother Chris...

hi bro, it should be pointed, get a new one ,start out with it in all the way R , snuggly, then back it out 1 1/2 turns L and adj. from that point.

Thanks Ben Lucky. That is what I thought. Now I can go and buy it without feeling like a fool.
Cheers,
Chris...
