Low oil alarm...

I have a 1998 Evinrude 130 hp. It has the VRO. I had a mishap that involved taking alot of water into my boat and it submerged the oil tank. I ran the motor for about 5 min after getting all the water out and i got the no oil warning buzzer (intermittent buzzer, 1 second on 1 second off). I stopped running the motor and took it home. I disconnected the oil line from the motor and drained the oil tank. I pumped the ball to clear the line and some water did come out with the oil. I cleaned the oil tank out and put new oil in and pumped the ball til i had clean good oil coming out. I hooked everything back up and took the boat out. After about 3-5 min of running the motor the no oil buzzer comes on. When i shut it off and start it back up it runs fine for 3-5 min and then the buzzer comes on again and limps the motor into safe mode. I have mixed oil in the gas in case it is not working. I am wondering why the no oil alarm is still coming on??

Was it a fresh or salt water dunk? What all was submerged?
