I just changed the prop and adjusted the WOT stop on my 1981 90Hp Evinrude.
Changed from a Alum 14" X 17" prop to a 13 3/8 X 17 S/S prop. This I dont see as an issue and the engine now runs smoother and doesn't shake all over the place.

I also adjusted the WOT stop and throttle cam yoke as the carb wasn't opening fully and took the slack out of the throttle cable.

But now the engine will rev all the way with the warm up lever on the forward control, but won't rev past 2000 at WOT.

I've checked all the linkage set-up as in the Clymer Manual and alas it covers a lot of models and the one it claims to match mine has a different picture for the linkage explanation.

Please Help.....

adjust the linkage back to where you started from and then see what happens

tried that today however, the marks I put on the Throttle cam yoke rubbed off, so now I'm winging it.
