I have a 2000 Regal with twin 4.3 volvo penta GL's carbed, I took the boat out last week and both engines ran perfect. However I took the boat out tonight and the starboard engine was only putting out 3700 rpms compared to the port engine which was turning at 4250 rpms. both at full throttle. I also noticed that the starboard engine was running a little rough almost like it was missing on one cylinder. Both engines have had new plugs, wires, caps, rotors and both carbs have been rebuilt this season. So where do I start??

Thank you,

Brian

Make sure a plug wire hasn't come off.

With the engine idling, pull 1 plug wire off at a time, then put it back on, do the next one.
You should hear a noticeable change in the engine for each one. If you don't for 1 of them, it's not firing.
Use insulated pliers to grip the boot lightly. Bare hands will usually get you zapped.
