Re: lower cylinder exhaust gasket replace

Are you talking abou6t the lower exhaust gasket under the flywheel or the port side gaskets on the side of the powerhead? If it is the portside gaskets chances are you can remove it without taking the head off. Try removing the lower screws first to make sure you can get them out of the holes without interfering with the sides of the lower cowl. I bought a gasket set from Shad that may have the gaskets you need. Let me know which gaskets you are looking at replacing.
Is it part 14 in this blow up?
Force powerhead

Re: lower cylinder exhaust gasket replace

A service manual would be of great help to you. On that parts blow up they call out two different gaskets. My chrysler had one above and one below the spacer plate. I believe you can replace the lower one by removing the motor leg, however the leak is probably coming from the upper one that the power head sits on. Maybe force is different then chrysler however I bet there are two gaskets. I searched all the items on that motor on the bam site and cant find anything that shows what I am saying is correct. Maybe the service manual would be clearer on it.
