lower cylinder exhaust gasket

i have a 1994 40 hp force by mercury water leaking inside of cowling a gasket i think it is the lower cylinder exhaust gasket. can you tell me how to replace it thanks

Hi,
Just did my Merc 115. Bigger, but I suspect similar. I had to lift the powerhead with a cherry picker (harbor freight tool). The only other challenge is stubborn bolts. I didn't break any, but I used lots of penetrating oil and did end up pulling bolts out with aluminum on the threads. Those had to be helicoiled. I wouldn't attempt it without either the manual or the exploded parts drawings from mercury parts express.
