lower end help on '74 6er

I dont have a manual as of yet due to funds but i plan to get one.

my '74 johny 6hp i am trying to replace the impeller since the the water is not pumping at start up and a little after.

the lower end i found 4 bolts didnt find anymore to remove but the lower end would not come out.

please help!!

Loosely place 1 bolt back in.
Remove spark plugs
Place a 1/2 drive pull bar with socket on the flywheel nut.
Briskly move the flywheel back and forth.

The shaft should release from the power head.

Remove the bolt and work the lower down about 1/2"
Reach in and remove the lower shift shaft coupling bolt.
Slowly rotate the flywheel to align the pin in the upper part of the shaft with a wide slot. The lower should slide completely out at that point.
