lower end making noise

Hi,1971 redband 115h.p. making noise forward gear 15 mph and up,also slipping out of gear occasionally.Does not appear to be any flakes in gearcase oil,don't think theirs water either.HELP.Thanks

Chances are the gears and the clutch are worn and need to be replaced or resurfaced.

Also check the shift cable adjustment and the control box for wear (makes the cable move less).<br /><br />Chris........
