Hello Everyone... I'm new to this boating lifestyle but a experienced mechanic. I want to remove the lower half of the exhaust pipe on a 3.0GL. The flapper is missing and I want to make sure that it did not fall through to the bottom and clog up the exhaust. It is in a 1994 wellcraft excel I am having problems with over heating so I am going through and replacing and repairing everything in the cooling system, I ordered a new impeller, I took apart the complete thermostat housing and cleaned it and now buying new gaskets and thermostat, Bought a new exhaust bellow boot (mine was split open). If there is anything else for me to look for or replace please let me know or if anyone knows anything about the cooling issues with this model please please help. Thanks and good day

Welcome.
Remove the drive and look inside for the pieces.
You should be able to see the parts if they fell down.
I got a camera with a flexible lens that helps look down in hard to reach places.

Thanks jerry I can't believe I didn't think about them cameras. I guess I will go buy one. That would be a lot easier than taking off the outdrive if I don't have too. Unless it did fall down there.

You need to pull the drive often for maintenance and inspection
