www.outboardjets.com This is the site for Specialty Manufacturing Inc. They are the company that makes all outboard jets, no matter if they're add-ons or supplied with a new motor.

If you're really writing from Quinhagak, give the Boat Shop (Johnson, Yamaha, Honda) or Compeaus (Evinrude, Johnson, in Fairbanks a call. If you have a Merc, give Reeds (also Fairbanks) a call. They all do a lot of bush shipping throughout the state. I would expect Dewey's or AK Mining and Diving in Anchorage might be able to help you also.

Expect to pay $1500 or more for a new unit.

When I lived in Bethel in the 80s, there were a few jet units around and I believe one or more of the boat shops there sold them. That's a long time ago though.

Once you get the unit shipped to you, installing them is not too awfully tough if you've ever done lower unit work. I have a run of the mill generic Seloc shop manual for my Johnson which covers installation of the jet unit.

Duh - I'm dense and wasn't thinking that you posted in the MERC forum about a MARINER motor! Contact Reed's in Fairbanks, they sell and service Merc/Mariners and do a lot of stuff with jet units. 800-770-8122
