lower shift cable question

Does anyone know if the lower unit cable from a hydrolic shift 400 1981, is the same cable as the 1982 and up mechanical cable?. I have lined up a 1985 mechanical shift to replace my hydro lower, I am watching a shift converter box, but need to know about the cable. <br /><br />Appreciate the help.-Jeff

I,ve done this exact swap out.The shift cables are not the same.Contact Pat Wherland in Seatle Washington @ 360-491-0384. He is a great guy and can furnish anything you are missing and any information you need. Good luck , this is not hard to do.Joe.
