Was out and about yesterday enjoying the weather, did some cruising and tubing for a bit. I have a 1974 Searay SRV 200, '74 302 V8 5.0L 225 HP Mercruiser, after a couple rounds of tubing we were switching tubers and I put the boat in gear and it felt like the lower unit was hitting something on the bottom, there was a definite clunking sound and the whole boat shook. I took it out yesterday but didn't have time to check the gear lube for metal scraps in the LU. The boat works fine in neutral and in reverse and does go in reverse actually better than it did before (weird). Also I messed with the reverse cable gear because it wasn't going into reverse after an impeller replacement. I adjusted the gear linkage and rotated that knob/bolt 4 turns to the left (if you were looking at it from the top and the back of the boat and put it back on that screw where it sits and put the little nut back on). Please any advice would be much help. I think the LU went out
