Sorry for the long story. I have a brand new 2005 Yamaha 2 stroke 70 hp outboard. I've been breaking it in the last couple of days (3-4 hours on break-in so far) I was cruising at around 3500 rpm when I hit a sandbar. The skeg of the motor dug in and stopped the boat in about 30-50 feet and the motor shut down from the prop not being able to turn. I'm wondering if I did any damage to the gearcase or anything. The boat is a 17' homebuilt center console that weighs around 1500lbs. The prop is an aluminum turning point huster prop. The only visible damage was the paint being sanded off the skeg of the motor about 3-4 inches from the bottom and 1 inch off the front. The aluminum prop had some paint scraped off of the blades but it wasn't bent or dinged at all. That being said I got the boat off the bar and drove her home and it seemed to run OK. Should I be concerned about any gear case damage?<br />Thanks
