Looking for a Lower Unit for a Mercury outboard engine. Merc 850. <br />85 Horsepower.<br />Serial Number 3744244, Circa 1972<br /><br />The lower Unit has a number stamped internally and that is 1623-4021. I think this is the part number for it.<br />I need the lower unit gear casing only. <br /><br />Thanks

I have a 1974 850 which I have torn apart. Connecting rods are dodgy. My serial 7033755. I know there were a few models of 850. I'm really looking for replacement connecting rods that aren't $180 each but if I chicken out, I'll be looking to part out my lower unit and anything else on the powerhead.
