The 78 inline 6 lower end will fit on the 88 115 inline midsection no problem. The 88 is a more streamlined design lower end but the bolt patterns are the same. I have a 88 lower end on my 75 1150.

damm brother thanx for the help maybe you can help me again with somthing else, my boat came with another extra lower unit im not sure what year but if it bolts up will it work?....thanx again
