Lower Unit Interchangeability

Can anybody point me in the right direction to find out what lower units will work with my 1988 48hp johnson. I have found a 1985 60hp lower unit but am unsure if it will work with my motor. Any help will be appreciated.

The 48s and the 60s with the small diameter housing will interchange from '76 to '88
