Lower Unit Leaking Oil

I have a 1985 115 Evinrude and I have noticed that there is unburned exhaust oil leaking out of the front drain holes at the top of the lower unit, as well as between the seam of the lower unit and mid section. Is this normal or are there some seal problems? I know it is normal for unburned engine oil to drain out thru the prop, but I am not sure if it should be coming out where it is.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary

Re: Lower Unit Leaking Oil

It's not a critical symptom ,but the next time you drop the lower unit to service the waterpump I recommend replacing the inner exhaust housing rubber seals on the upper and lower end of the exhaust housing(boot). They tend to get crudded up over time and allow exhaust to escape into the leg cavity instead of it all being directed thru the hub.
