Have taken lower unit off to install new impeller.<br />Re-installing lower unit has been troublesome.<br />You have to install the linkage to a hole near the top of the shiftshaft. What gear should the lower unit be in for this? Does it matter as long as the clip goes in? I know if the prop rotates clockwise it is in forward, and if it goes both ways it is in neutral. If it seem ot be locked and it is hard to turn the prop is this reverse?
