Lower Unit Question

I am redoing the lower unit for a 1970 mercury 50horse 500. The book calls for 210ft lbs (N/M) of torque on the plastic cover nut. That seems like huge amount for a plastic piece. I dont even have a torque wrench that goes that high. I was wondering if someone could give me the right amount, or maybe it could be inch lbs of torque. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Re: Lower Unit Question

This is either a typo or its 210 inch-pounds. plus, its for a plastic cover, not a water jacket bolt...Even the flywheel on the motor doesn't require 210 ft/lbs. In fact, in my time working on boats and cars, I've never seen a bolt that required 210 ft/lbs. Highest I've ever needed was aroun 150 ft/lbs.
