lower unit questions?

I have a 1990 Mercury200hp on my boat. I can get a 225 Mercury that needs a lower unit. The motor is a 1994. Will my lower unit interchange with the one on the 225? They are bot 25inch.

Your motor should be a 2.4 or slight possibility 2.5. A 225 is a 3.0 motor unless its a ProMax. If not it won't work.......

Yeah it is a 2.5 black max so I guess it wont work. Oh well.

Yours is a 2.5? or is tha one your callin' a 225 a 2.5? Just makin' sure I'm understanding.............
