I am doing a back yard assembly of an 1988 omc lower unit. The boat is a 1988 Four Winns 215 sundowner. I need the torque setting for the pinion. I had to purchase a new housing, the original was damaged during disambely, and also purchased new bearing kits and seals and o'rings. Can I confident the reassembly will be accurate enough to so as not to harm the drive train until I can reset everything with the manual. The boat dealer wanted 550.00 to reset the lower unit. I feel this is real gouging.
