I wanted to thank all that helped with advice, tips, schematics, and everything else on my lower unit rebuild. It did cost around as much to replace all gears, bearings, seals, longshaft, and bearing housings, as buying another unit, but my intent was to rebuild for the knowledge for the next breakdown. I was hampered for a few months with a knee blowout, so I would tinker in the garage on one small thing about once per week. Now that I have the LU bolted on, I just want to do a little cleaning up on the engine and boat before I take her out for a trial.
