lower unit removal

Is there good advice on how to change the oil seals on a lower unit (Merc) do you have to remove the water pump to change the oil seals ?

there are 2 seals there but replace the whole pump instead.2 prop shaft seals, shift shaft seal, drive shaft seal,carrier seal. Best thing is to get a manual for it.
