Lower unit squeal?

Hi everybody...I have a 1995 Mercury 75 HP outboard that developed a squeal and vibration yesterday. I just had the prop seal and shift shaft seal as well as the water pump replaced on this motor. The work was done at a reputable dealer that I have used before. A small lower unit leak began after I hit an underwater rock earlier this year. It also put a very slight bend in the skeg. We were in upper Minnesota when the accident occurred and at the time I didn't even know it was leaking so we continued to use the boat for 3 more days with no driving issues. I just got the boat back from being fixed and took my nephews out tubing. 2 hours into the days I noticed a quiet squeal from the motor as well as a vibration in the steering. It only seems to happen while in gear. I limped it back to the launch. I drained the lower unit today and didn't see evidence of metal shavings. With the shifter in neutral the prop spins freely with no noise or resistance. In forward...with the motor still off...the prop makes a gear on gear noise that can be felt in the prop. The prop still catches and holds like it should but I don't remember being able to feel and hear a gear noise if the prop is turned back and forth. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day.

Time to pull the lower apart. Sounds like a bearing going out

Am I correct in thinking that while the engine is off but in forward gear that besides the loud clicks in one direction and the stop that occurs in the other direction that there should be no noise or gear meshing feel (maybe bearing feel) in between those two points of rotation while hand turning the prop?
