Start by measuring the shaft length, count the number of splines on the top of the shaft, see if it has the preload pin on the top of the shaft or not, see if the number of splines are the same for the shift shaft, see if it has or if you need a speedo port. I found with my swap on my 50 that it didn't have to be the exact casting number to fit.

Has spot for pin but no pin my shaft is 24 inches this one is 23 since it doesn't have a pin I was told all mercury lower units from 135hp to 200hp interchange just want verification from the boating experts this site has

If both are 20" shaft length, V6 motors, the swap shuld work.

Yes, all the mercury v6 lowers will interchange from the 70's up to the mid 2000's for sure. Note that the internal parts had some year to year changes but the entire lowers will swap if you have the right shaft length. I'm running a lower from a mariner on my 82 black max.

Done!! Took it out tonight and seems to be running good ! Thank you all to helped me with this issue

They will swap as same gear ratio(2:1), some 175 and all 200's are a 1:87.
