A guy at work recently had trouble with the lower unit on his 1985 mercury 20 hp. He said oil was just running out of it. He's now looking to get rid of it. I have a 1988 or 1989 9.9 mercury. I was wondering if the lower unit on mine would fit the 20 horse? I haven't seen his motor. He said it runs great but the lower is shot. How much would a new lower cost if it's not repairable? Thanks for the info.
