Lower unit will not trim up or down

So here is my trouble, I have a 3.0 GL Volvo Penta engine on my Glastron, I took my boat out on the water and started to trim the lower unit down. As I took off with the lower unit down, i went to trim the prop up and got no response from the trim. Once I mustered back to the dock I could hear a clicking noise when trying to trim the motor up or down. What could be causing the problem? Do I need to replace the trim motor or could it be the relay switches?

List the entire engine model first.
There may be a breaker on the main module attached to the engine that's tripped.
Do a search on here and look in the adults only and DIY posts for some insight as well.

I checked all the fuses and breakers, all were fine.

Thanks for the info. I will try testing the relay's and see if that is the problem. Hard to believe that both relay switches would quit working so sudden at the same time.

New on the forum and not really sure where everything is located.

So I checked all of the relays and fuses and they all check out fine... Not sure where to go next with this issue.

Sometimes I wonder why I own a boat....
