What was a loud thunking in gear became, what appears, to be a total stipping of the gears. My lower unit went and the gears don't engage at all. Question, is the lower unit totaly shot or can a resonable fix be done. Thanks
What model engine are you dealing with? It would depend on just how much damage has been done to the gearcase housing. When you get the gearcase apart, and everything cleaned up, You can then tell what can be salvaged.
