I have 1985 force 50hp mode 507x5a and when removing lower unit found water in unit. order new gaskets for water pump housing and top of lower unit. will this repair keep water getting in lower unit? the motor has not seen water in 5 years except for when i put ear muffs on. when I removed lower unit the drive shaft came out of lower unit is this ok? and the drive shaft had a brass bushing at top of drive shaft that goes into motor i marked it and remove so i could get water pump off, waht concerns me that it is not mention in repair manual about removing it. any info would be great
