I have a 1995 Chris craft concept 19 with a 5.0 fl Volvo penta with a sx cobra drive, 1.66 ratio can any help me on what lower units will work as I have taken mine off. Thanks
Any Volvo SX-M or OMC Cobra SX lower unit with that ratio will work. I believe a '95 or '96 DP-SM duo prop would also work if you can find it, but I don't know what ratio you would need to change to for a duo prop. Someone here would know that.
a guy is telling me there are 2 different ones, does anyone know what style mine would be? A copper tube goes there. Really wish I had pulled it apart before going into storage
Right, but some are telling me that gearing is in my upper so the lowers are the same, need a merc, I can’t find any 1.66 with the same I’m guessing the pipe is a water pick up. They all bolt on and mine just seals up tight.( the copper pipe)
if its an SX, the gearing in the top transmission is all the same across the board and the gear ratio change from 4-6-small 8-large 8 is all done in the lower gear set.
OEM VOLVO PENTA LOWER SX-M FRESHWATER 1.66 / 1.97 This is from a 2000 freshwater only central NC boat that sat on a trailer and has no salt water corrosion or issues. This is factory paint and has not been repainted or touched up to look better and hide any corrosion.

ok so then how can this be for either or? If the other 1.97 I sent won’t work why would this one?
