Lowers that will fit 225 Optimax

I just bought a 225 DFI Optimax with a bad lower. Manufacture date says 2002. Serial # QSCC01129050. Can anyone tell me if I have to buy a lower from an optimax or will lowers from efi's also fit? Also, what would the litre be for this motor. Is this a 3.0? Just trying to know what I am looking for. Thanks for the help!

It is a 3.0 liter engine and you need one that is the same spline count as yours engine. The 3.0 lowers came in 8 and 13 splines. 1994-1996/97 are 8 spline and 1996/97 and up are 13 spline. The difference's are the driveshaft splines,internal brgs,internal housing spec's.
