Is this a good chartplotter? Will be used on the chesapeak bay and va rivers, found on craigslist for 110$ in good condition w/antenna and cables, sound like a good deal?
Thanks!

Yes and no. It's a nice unit considering it's only greyscale.
The problem is the map data. Lowrance's MapCreate data is so bad it is un-usable - bouys on land, data is way out of date. You have the option of using Navionics carts which are excellent, but be prepared to spend another couple hundred bucks.

I think ill pass on this one. Originally I was looking at just a small handheld just for speed but then I got to thinking how having a unit with a map and routes would be handy too just about the time this one popped on craigs. Might just go with a Garmen handheld, maybe etrex or etrex legend and I could always upgrade if it turns out I need to.

If you traverse the bay at all, a chart plotter is the way to go.
But, it's a pretty significant investment.
