Trying to transfer trails, waypoints etc from my Lowrance Elite 5 HDI to my older Lowarance H2O handheld gps.
Get a message on the H2O saying "User data file version is not compatible with the current unit software version"
The H2O is running version version 1.4.0 Build LL1441C Build LL1211C
No problem transferring files the other way from H2O to the Elite 5.
You would think a .usr file would be a .usr file and be recognized by any Lowrance unit.
But I guess not.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Make sure the coordinate formats are the same. Its been a long time but I vaguely remember having a problem similar to that.

Through some internet searches found a free gps data manager and converter called GPS Babel.
This program is usually used to convert file formats from one manufacturer to another.
Used my file from the Elite as the Input in the Babel progrom with format Lowrance USR.
For the Output used the same Option - Lowrance USR.
The resulting file then did load on my H2O.
