So I am about ready to splash my boat, been working on it all winter!!! Upholstery is almost all completed, I'll have some pics up soon of the whole boat along with the new sun pads for the bow.

I am looking to get a nice Chart Plotter. I am thinking about the Lowrance HDS-5 Nautic Insight. Originally, I was going to buy the FLOscan fuel gauges for both motors but after thinking about it, I would rather have an all-in-one unit that can do everything.

So, I am planning on also getting Lowrance fuel flow senders for it so I can tell where my sweet spot is with the motors as well as well as have a backup in case one of my fuel gauges stops working in the middle of a trip.

I am looking for any advice/opinions on the unit and I am also looking for some instructions on how this whole NMEA2000 network setup is done. I am a Sr. Server Administrator as well as run my own computer business so I know my way with networking/computers/etc... However, do I need a switch in order to plug in more then one device or is it just daisy chaining them and somehow the unit can pick up on each one down the line and the devices themselves assign an IP Address vs. a switch doing it.

Thanks guys for the help in advance! :D
