Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 3 Touch screen not working

The touch screen on my father in law's Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 3 is not working. The manual say to go to the touch lock and press the power button. When we do that all that happens is the brightness changes every time you press the power button. Anyone else had problems like this??

My father in law did, they said he has to send it in to be reset. I'm just wondering if they told him that to get him off the phone. He is not very tech savvy and can be "difficult" at times when it comes to customer service reps

Lowrance customer service isn't known for being the best, but if they can solve the problem he may be good to go.

​Lowrance offers free online upgrades, so this may a software upgrade that they need to do.
