Hey all, I have 1982 searay SRV255, just under 26 foot with a 10 foot beam.
I am using a Lowrance HDS-7 gen 2 tough for gps and fishfinder. It has an 83/200 transceiver as well as a structure scan.
My boat has a TR outdrive on it, big prop. Because of this even while at idle speed I am churning up the water enough to
muddy up the top of the display. Would switching to a through hull transceiver further up the boat clean up my view a bit?
Is it worth it?
I am fishing freshwater on Lake Erie for walleye and perch.

I am also in process of installing a lowrance cable steer autopilot as soon as I figure out the right replacement cable to order.
Boat currently has rack and pinion, need to measure for proper length for the rotary replacement.
If anyone has any feedback on the lowrance AP I would love to hear it.
