Firstly, if I give you this information, will I get 'moderators brownie points'?
The main difference between LPG on a petrol engine and a diesel engine is in the fact that the diesel engine fuel system isn't modified in any way. The LPG is injected into the air intake of the engine and is present in the compressed air charge in the cylinder at the time of diesel injection. This means that the LPG is ignited as the diesel starts to burn, that promotes diesel burn, increasing it from about 80% to 98%. That improves power and torque and decreases consumption (because more of the available energy in the diesel is being released). It also means the engine oil stays clean for longer as less carbon particulates are created and much less black exhaust smoke, for the same reason.
I do have a web link on the website, but if you missed it, http://www.dieselgasaustralia.com.au/'
Cheers,
