Does anyone know where I can find the drain/vent plug gaskets for my 55hp Chrysler lower unit? I know it seems silly, but I just can't find them on here, maybe i'm just missing them? Or... a substitute from a local auto parts store?

Thanks in Advance!

I have the same problem. I finally found that ACE hardware has some nylon washers that were the correct size and dirt cheap. The ones at the boating store were expensive and pretty flimsy, made out of some type of paper or fiber material.

They do not need to be those white plastic gaskets. You can get gaskets from OMC, Merc, or Force at the local dealer for about 50 cents. Some are black, some are green and thickness varies slightly. All that is necessary is that they are 3/8 ID.

On the other hand, if you want to go all out, OMC did make a 3/8 plug with a built in O ring. But, I think they were extremely expensive.
