I have an OMC Cobra sterndrive in a 88 Four Winns. As part of my off season maintenance I'd like to lube and adjust all my control cables. I've done a ton of research and I think I have a handle on the adjustment part but need some advice on the lubing. What is the best method to do this? From the controller end or the engine end? Best product? Etc. These forums are great. I learn new stuff everyday!

Re: Lubing control cables

Well I Don't Do OMCs, But Every boat cable I've Ever seen Doesn't Require Lubing.....
They're not built to accept oil in anyway....Without atleast partial disassembley....
The cable runs in a Slippery Plastic Liner...
IF they're Sticking, Replace Them....
Other than that,they're Maintaince Free........

Re: Lubing control cables

Okay. Thanks. I'll disconnect and check for smooth operation and replace as necessary.
