hi, I have an old Shell lake 14ft bench seat, tiller, with the tri-hull front end that I'm almost finished restoring. Just wondering what type of trailer I should look for. Not sure if a bunk or roller trailer would work best for it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tom

I recomend bunk trailers for tri hulls. I used to have a tri hul with a roller trailer and It was difficult to keep the rollers from catching the outer ribs especially in heavy current retrivals. Bunks are easier to load, just need to be adjusted to fit your hull first.

I know the hull design and would suggest a keel roller bunk trailer with tilt. Then look at the amount of adjustment is allowed to move the bunks in or out from center because you want the bunks under the flatest part of the hull.

i have ownd 2 tri-hulls both had rollers i will tell you my first was a fixer upper and first time i backd it into the water i unhooked it as my dad has bunks on his boat the minuite i started backing up it rolled off... broke the speedo thank god that was it. my last tri hull was an arrowglass 17 footer only had rollers down the middle and 2, 4 foot rollers by the transome little hard at first getting it on the trailer back end wonders. how ever my 91 four winns sundowner has bunks and i love them they hug the boat i powerload it perfectly every time. i don't think i would get rollers again if i had my choice mainly because i launch by myself a lot and its easier with bunks.

Thanks for the input guys. I was leaning toward bunk before, but I am sure of it now. Thanks again, Tom
